Final lineup of Zyklon just before the release of their debut is Zamoth (aka Samoth) and Trym of Emperor, Destructhor (Destructor) from Myrkskog. As Zamoth states, this is not just a projectband. Zyklon is permanent. Check out our review of the concert on the 8th of december 2000 in Oslo, Norway.

World Ov Worms, Candlelight, 2001.  Rating: 70

zyklonworldovworms.jpg - 48622 Bytes This is Zyklon's debutalbum which has been on the way since 1998. In addition to the original 3 members of the band, Daemon from Limbonic Art is contributing with all the vocals on this recording, he's now a fulltime member of Zyklon, and will also be playing with them live, and Trickster G aka Garm of Ulver also appears on vocals. All lyrics were written by former Emperor member Bård Faust Eithun, and is generally about critisicm toward the monotheistic religions, hate and apocalysm, as Faust states himself in an interview. This debut is brutal extreme metal and the chaos displayed on the later Emperor albums is most certainly also present here, but with a much more extreme deathmetal industrial influenced soundpicture like for example on the excellent Myrkskog album Deathmachine. Trym now has got short hair and is equipped with a monster gun pointed straight at your face. Remember folks, eventhough they state, that this has got nothing to do with the old Zyklon-B, we do smell a pinch of misanthropy here, and Ihsahn did carry a gun too on the innersleeve of Blood Must Be Shed.
